Welcome to the Paraparaumu Bridge Club Inc. Web Site.
Paraparaumu is in the Kapiti Coast district which is located on the south-western coast of the lower North Island of New Zealand about 50 kilometres north of Wellington CBD. The population of the district is just over 50,000 with most people living in the townships of Paekakariki, Raumati, Paraparaumu, Waikanae and Otaki. The district is named after Kapiti Island which is a predator free easily accessible island nature reserve populated with native birds and wildlife seldom seen on the mainland. Besides being the centre of local government Paraparaumu is the main shopping centre on the Kapiti coast with good public transport to Wellington. The airport provides regular flights to Auckland, Christchurch and the upper South Island. Due to the beaches and the other outdoor activities available in the area the Kapiti District is a popular holiday destination for many people
The Paraparaumu Bridge Club was formed in 1968 and moved to its present premises in 1998 after a major fundraising effort by the then members to build and equip the present building with its bright, spacious, comfortable rooms, provided with the assistance of the local body, which include a well-equipped kitchen, bar and modern office with computers with the latest electronic scoring system and dealing machine. We currently have approximately 200 members and give them the opportunity to play bridge a least 7 times a week in a pleasant environment.
Visitors are always welcome.
